Our Carbon Footprint Has Been Calculated
Our Sustainability Work Continues – Our Carbon Footprint Has Been Calculated
Our sustainability efforts are progressing with determination: the Finland Chamber of Commerce has awarded Sarlin the "Carbon Footprint Calculated" label, recognizing that we have calculated our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). The calculation includes direct emissions from our own energy production, fuel use, and vehicles (Scope 1), as well as indirect emissions from purchased energy, such as electricity and heat (Scope 2).
Next, we will deepen our climate work by joining the Finland Chamber of Commerce's Climate Community. This year, 142 SMEs have committed to the community to collaborate in learning and finding solutions. The Climate Community's training, tools, and hands-on support will help us expand our emissions calculation to also cover Scope 3 – that is, the impacts throughout our supply chain and the full life cycle of our products.

Measuring Our Carbon Footprint Provides Concrete Tools for Reducing Emissions
Measuring our carbon footprint gives us concrete tools to reduce emissions and develop even more sustainable solutions together with our customers and partners. It is a natural part of our long-term commitment to sustainable industry – and our journey toward a cleaner tomorrow.
“Sustainability is part of our everyday work and continuous improvement. Calculating our carbon footprint is one concrete step in a larger process. I believe that actions taken together with our customers and partners make a difference – and that responsible industry plays a key role in building a cleaner future,” says Eija Halonen, Quality Manager at Sarlin.
