Sensors for Hazardous Areas
Sensors for hazardous areas are available as intrinsically safe (Exi) and explosion-proof (Exd) structures.
- Sensors are certified, including approved elements, required grounding, and accessories such as enclosures and cable glands.
- An Exi-approved button transmitter can be installed on intrinsically safe sensors, provided proper circuit isolation is ensured.
- Data from the sensor can also be sent to a distributed I/O circuit, such as Turck’s DIN rail transmitter.
- In explosion-proof construction, a standard transmitter can also be installed if necessary.
