Communication
Red Lion's protocol communication features are among the most powerful in the industry. With over 300 industrial drivers and Crimson® software’s simple drag-and-drop protocol conversion, CR1000 and CR3000 HMI devices ensure that your hardware remains up-to-date and connected for the future.

Connectivity
Additional connectivity options in HMI devices reduce PLC system load, decreasing complexity and costs. CR1000 and CR3000 HMI devices feature up to two (2) 10/100Base-T(X) Ethernet ports and up to four (4) serial ports. A USB device port, standard on all models, accelerates program loading compared to serial connections. For applications requiring extensive user input, USB host ports enable faster data entry by adding peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, or barcode scanner. Additionally, optional modules expand CR3000 HMI communication capabilities, eliminating the need for third-party external communication ports – saving time and money by simplifying programming and installation costs.

Crimson® Software
Shorter production cycles mean that end customers of integrators and OEMs expect them to design, build, or quickly revamp highly customized machines faster than ever before. With Crimson® software’s easy-to-use import tool, users can update existing Crimson databases to these displays with just a few clicks.

Enhanced basic elements provide smoother edges and more fill options with anti-aliased rendering, giving a more natural look. Revamped symbols and basic elements reduce the need for importing and formatting custom elements. Crimson's intelligent conversion tool enables developers to quickly reuse key elements or entire databases to scale features across systems.

Data Collection
Data collection and web-serving features enable equipment manufacturers and operational management to evaluate machine usage and performance and provide maintenance recommendations, such as predictive maintenance, before major issues arise. Data can be collected from any or all connected devices and compiled into CSV files that can be stored, displayed, emailed, or automatically synchronized with a server.

Boost production efficiency by leveraging upstream systems using SQL queries. The SQL query function, available in CR3000 HMI devices, automates data loading from Microsoft SQL Server to populate process values. Typical applications include recipes for batch products, production expectations (KPIs) per shift, or user IDs.

Remote Monitoring and Control
The web server included in CR3000 HMI devices offers full-screen mode, mobile-responsive pages, HTTPS operation with certificate provisioning, and features such as HTTP redirection, CSS, and JavaScript support.
