Components used for compensating the positioning of robots or handled objects are utilized in assembly, installation, and material handling tasks to compensate for positioning errors, for example, when handling delicate objects prone to damage. The compensation element allows the robot tool, e.g., a gripper, to flex in the desired direction, which can be X-Y, Z, or rotational/tilt movement. Depending on the model, the flexible element can be centered and locked into place after flexing. The compensation element can also be installed under a pallet or work table intended for object handling, so it does not affect the robot tool's size and mass.
