Cylinder Level Monitoring
Hydrastep system for monitoring boiler drum levels. The system is also suitable for other applications with high pressure and temperature.


Reliability and safety for cylindrical level measurement. Now available with SIL2 approval.
Delta Mobreyn Hydrastep 2468 system is a highly reliable electronic steam and water measurement system that measures the steam and gas interface in steps using electrodes based on the conductivity of the medium. Hydrastep is the only conductivity sensor for cylinder level monitoring in the world with any level of SIL certification. Over 6,000 system installations have been made globally. Hydrastep enables compliance with the ASME boiler code and other regulations. An excellent alternative to problematic sight glasses. Can be used with differential pressure transmitters (DP) and/or guided wave radar for added redundancy.
- The system is a complete delivery and includes a control unit/bright LED local display, special cabling, and optionally remote display(s) for the control room.
- Hydrastep includes a column designed to fit the application. Operates up to 560 °C and 300 bar pressure.
- Electrodes can be selected in quantities of 8...32 and are attached to the column.
- Extremely reliable and safe. Redundant dual-circuit operation (for odd and even electrodes) and two power supplies. The probability of the system causing a non-harmful fault is 1/10 million per year. The probability of the system missing a fault state is 1/300 million per year.
- The system allows for up to 16 relay outputs with mA output. This enables level alarms, as well as lower and upper limit alarms.
