Zimmerli Messtechnik AG has been manufacturing pressure reducers since 1974, for example, for regulating gases used in inerting.

Significant savings in gas consumption are achieved, and waste gas is reduced by up to 90% when incoming and outgoing gas is regulated.

Inerting is used, for example:

  • To prevent the formation of explosive gas mixtures in the airspace of oil tanks by replacing a flammable gas mixture with a suitable non-flammable gas.
  • To avoid food spoilage by replacing oxygen-containing air, for example, with nitrogen.
  • To reduce corrosion in water tanks by replacing oxygen-containing air mixtures with nitrogen.

Typical users of inerting include the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, energy, cosmetics, and biotechnology industries.

Zimmerli regulators operate without external energy and are fully automatic.

  • Process connections with DIN/ANSI flanges, threads, or TRI-Clamp flanges.
  • Bubble-tight, also suitable for vacuum applications.
  • Maximum inlet pressure 16 bar, can be reduced to the mbar range.
  • Construction materials: acid-resistant steel, Hastelloy, PP, PVDF.
  • Seal materials: Viton, Teflon, Kalrez.
  • Surface finish: hand and/or electro-polished.
  • Can also be used in sterile and aseptic applications.
  • Certificates: EN10204 3.1B, FDA, ATEX II
