Object identification and dimensioning

In industry, mechanical engineers in particular have a need to identify objects. They need to know whether an object is present or in the right position so that the next phase of an automated function can be implemented. The correct measuring method is selected partly on the basis of the prevailing conditions.

Optical measuring is a simple solution, but sensitive to dust and dirt. Inductive measuring can identify metals and is also durable in dirty industrial conditions. Finally, ultrasonic sensors are sensitive to acoustic disturbances and outdoor conditions. In addition to the prevailing conditions, the selection criteria includes the properties of the measured object and targets set for identification, such as sufficient identification distance and the minimum distance between different measurements.

Sarlin has been determined to select the best international producers and product developers as its partners. Our experts have decades of experience in object identification and we have delivered comprehensive 3D dimensioning projects.
